Dear Dr Lin , thank you in advance for your consideration to my problem.Sorry for the lenght of this E-mail but I will try and give you as accurate as information as possible. I am 30 years old and have been a reasonably heavy drinker and smoker since I was about 18.I have also used ecstacy, amphetamines, cannabis,LSD between the ages of 18 and 24.About 5 years ago I went to the doctor thinking I had piles but he did a DRE and told me it was prostatitis.I had no more symptoms and it cleared up after a month.However, in April 2002 I went on holiday to Thailand and ended up sitting for long periods of time on hard wooden floors as well as drinking and smoking heavily.I felt my perineum and prostate swell and sweat but took little notice(a foolish lack of understanding on my part).At the end of the holiday I caught some kind of fever(probably Dengue fever although it went undiagnosed).This illness involved quite violent bowel movements and my perineum/prostate swelled again and they became sore.After, the symptoms settled down although when I drank or smoked there would be a little sweat and swelling.Also there was a very hard small swelling near my anus occasionally ;piles perhaps? Over the next few months I noticed a loss in erections but I put this down to stress and a lack of exercise.I also found myself jerking ,almost like a tiny epileptic fit ,especially before falling asleep( a very strange sensation ,almost a momentary stutter in my body).I also had a number of bad headaches.About november 2002 my erections were getting weaker and I started using my prostate/cp muscles to help gain an erection.I also started crossing my feet to help ejaculate as it was becoming more difficult(it felt like my prostate was being squeezed).At the start of 2003 i went on a weeks drinking and smoking spree. I engaged in too much excessive practice out of frustration and on the last night I ejaculated 3 times .It was horrific . It felt like my prostate was going to pop out from under my scrotum.My perineum was massively swollen and the smell of sweat from the area was disgusting.I had chills, fever , pain in my lower back ,outer and inner thighs, felt faint ,constipated one minute , diahorrea the next.My urine would dribble,split ,not come then i would need to go all of a sudden but with pain and difficulty.It was like someone had driven a knife into my penis and squeezed my testicles which were burning.The doctor said i had prostatitis after a DRE although there was no bacteria in my urine samples.He put me on 1 week of amoxycillin,2 weeks of erythromicin,6 weeks of trimethoprim and 6 weeks of ciproflaxocin.15 weeks of antibiotics on the run -i felt down .After about a month of the symptoms flaring up a new pain developed.It was like a golf ball in my anus and then a type of sore/abrasive type pain from i guess what would be my prostate.There would also be a kind of almost dental type/nerve exposed pain around the prostate area.These pains can keep me in bed they get that bad.During my last course of antibiotics the only things which had gone were the chills and the sweats so i decided to try some chinese medicine(obviously i had no erections during this period -for the first 2 months of the flare up there was only pain and a sexual numbness in my penis). i tried the chinese medicine from a kind doctor and he managed to get my urinary and bowel habits under some control and helped take away the stabbing pain in my penis and reduce most of the pain in my testicles.I stopped wearing tight trousers which i had been wearing the week before the flare up in january,changed my diet to a more healthy one,virtually stopped smoking and drinking -only do this on very rare occasions ,exercise take 2 baths a day etc I have now taken about a months worth of beta-sitosterol, quercetin and intend to start selenium and vitamin d and e tablets.However , i still have this horrible soreness, dental type pain in my prostate which also coresponds to tingling type pain in the bottom of my right foot.Every time i have a sexual thoughtmy perineum swells up almost as if it is preventing an erection and i do not get erections now(did i overdo it and damage the nerves ,blood veesles- can i get an erection again -sometimes i get very weak ones )I still get some of the other symptoms but to a lesser extent-sometimes the back and thigh pains and my urinary stream has never been that strong anyway.I also seem to find that my prostate palpatates from time to time and have the odd shooting pain from my abdomen to my groin.I hope you can tell me what is happening to my body and recommed some treatment.Which of your products should i use?what frequency and dose?Should i continue to take the food supplements ie selenium ,beta sitosterol etc whilst using your products? Do i need to have my hormones checked before i take any capsules because this might be impossible in the UK ?Do the relabelling guidelines apply to the UK on your products?
