Case Title: Tips for hysterectomy women to achieve sexual orgasm.
Reader: 7/31/2003
I had a hysterectomy about 2 years age. I can't orgasm when making love like I used to. I have tried creams etc. Is there anything to help me surgery, medication ( I take premarin pills and the cream) I am desperate. Please help me.
Dr. Lin: 7/31/2003>
Hysterectomy surgery has destroyed most of the vaginal
nerves and arteries. Only the clitoris and the outer vaginal nerves survive.
So, you need a lot of stimulation pressure on the first 1-2 inches of your urethral/vaginal nerves and clitoral nervous for you to achieve orgasm..
Since you are over 50, the nervous sensitivity is getting lower due to a drop of the neurotransmitter acetylcholine and free testosterone (Orgasmic fuel) , your brain's dopamine (orgasmic fire) nervous action decreases, and your stress level increases. Therefore, orgasm becomes more and more difficult.
The situation becomes worsen after your ovaries and uterus/cervix were removed.
Your ovaries are supposed to produce about 50% of androgen hormones such as androstenedione and testosterone to suppose your libio and orgasmic functions (the other 50% is from
adrenal glands) while your uterus/cervix is the main storage of sex hormones such as androstenedione, testosterone,
progesterone and estrogen. You lose the supply and reservoir of the orgasm fuel.
