Hi,I'm 34 years old i was sexualy active until my doctor put me on lopid(cohlestrol medecine) from third day i noticed an impotence and my penis shrinked,doctor wanted me to stop it and try lipitoor,I felt same shrinkage after 6 days and i don't have same feeling in sex.now they want me to try (zocoor)wich have same side effects maybe!!!
please let me know if this will get worse if i kept taking those medication?

Here is what happen:
The so-called bad cholesterol (LDL) is produced by the liver for the hormonal (steroid) production as shown in this link -

The enzymes are: cholesterol side-chain cleavage enzyme complex (the Liver P450 detoxification enzyme), 3-beta-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase/isomerase, 17-alpha-hydroxylase, 17,20-lyase, 17-beta-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase/oxidoreductase, aromatase, and 5-alpha reductase.

The cholesterol drugs are to reduce the production of LDL in the liver, but it also reduces the liver steroid enzymes associated with the cholesterol-hormone conversion.
With a drop of LDL and the liver steroid enzymes, it is expected that your androgen hormones will drop significantly too. With a lack of androgen hormones, your penis shrink naturally.
The proper reduction of LDL should be achieved by increasing the liver P450 detoxification function and enzymes, but not by blocking the liver function.
The drugs themselves can poison to the liver, and then screw up the P450.
Once the P450 is too busy, the liver will lose its ability to supply enough enzymes for the translation of amino acids into neurotransmitters.
