Dr. Lin: 11/30/2004>all the hormone-based birth controls, oral, patch, injection or implant, do the same thing - shutting down the hypothalamus-pituitary-ovarian axis by flooding the hormone receptors in the hypothalamus/pituitary glands with the artificial progesterone and estrogen. That is, the hormone-based birth controls tell your brain that you are pregnant so that the hypothalamus-pituitary-ovarian axis is disabled for blocking the release of eggs.
One the other hand, the oral and patch one can also emulate a fake menstrual cycle to let you know you are not pregnant by varying the daily dosage of the artificial progesterone and estrogen.
The problem is: when your liver is overloaded by the artificial progesterone and estrogen and become too weak to detoxify them into the natural ones, your uterine lining become too thin to stop separating from your uterine body due to a lack of natural progesterone, and then the uterine lining separation causes a light, slow bleeding which is oxidized and yeasted into the brown color in the vaginal environment. The original uterine lining bleeding is red. A heavy vaginal discharge can be red if it flows out before oxidized and yeasted. A slow bleeding can be oxidized and yeasted into other colors - black, blue and green too.
Once, you get the brown vaginal discharge, you will expect to continuously have a vaginal discharge due to a weakening liver function.
