Hello Dr. Lin,

I'm 26 years old. Finding your site gave me a lot of hope. I really hope that you could find a little time to read my whole story and help me.

When I was 17 I was introduced to the Internet and to all the porn sites and stuff. Then I started masturbating excessively once a day or once every two days. I seldomly did it more than once a day. The bad thing is that with time I started prolonging each act of masturbation so I often masturbated 2-3 hours without ejaculating (when I feeled that I was going to ejaculate I was trying to prevent it by stopping masturbation for a few minutes and then continuing).

When I was 21 I started having the first symptoms of over masturbation (loss of memory, distraction, sometimes impaired vision, tiredness). When I was 23 I had a girlfriend who liked making sex 2-3 times a day. Then I started having pain in one of the testicles. I went to a doctor and he found trichomonas in my prostatic secretion. I took some antibiotics but the pain did not disappear. Then I split with my girlfriend and decided to quit excessive masturbation. I was masturbating at most once a week sometimes once every two weeks. The pain in the testicle disappeared and I was feeling OK. For one year I was without girlfriend and feeling OK.

Then when I was 24 I found another girlfriend and we were making sex 1-2 times a day. Once when she was gone on a vacation I started masturbating excessively again. I returned to the bad habit of prolonging the act of masturbation and then my serious symptoms appeared. I started having pain in the lower abdomen and pelvis which was getting stronger with time, sometimes testicle pain. I didn't even imagine that the frequent sex was causing these problems as I had seen a web site which promoted frequent sex and masturbation saying that it was good for man's health. I thought that it was some king of inflammation of the prostate so I went to several doctors. They did not find anything except a little swollen and not so firm prostate gland. They told me that I had nothing particular and that I was OK. I learned to live with the pain and unfortunately I did not change my sexual habits.

One day after I was exercising intensively for several days I felt that the pain was getting stronger. Now I have a lot of pain in the lower abdomen and pelvis sometimes I cannot even sleep at night. I started having urinary problems, urinating frequently (sometimes at night up to 3-4 times), sometimes (but not always) burning in the urethra and at the tip of the penis during urination, headache, tiredness, shallow breathing. Once I had pain when ejaculating but normally I don't feel pain when I ejaculate. All my urine and semen cultures came out negative. I often have the feeling of not being able to completely empty the bladder.

I don't want to masturbate anymore. I would like to have sex with my girlfriend 2-3 times a week at most and I really would like to live normally.

Can the consequences of this very unhealthy way of living be cured? Can you help me Dr. Lin? I have read a lot of material on your site but I would like you to give me your personal opinion on my case. Which one of your medications should I order and take and for how long?
