I'm 18 years old. I've been taking birth control since I was 13. My period wouldn't stop on it's own. I was taking loestren birth control pills until about 2 or so years ago when the Ortho Evra Patches came out. They been working wonderfully and I don't get the side effects that the birth control pills use to give me. My problem is a few weeks ago I started getting a little bit of brown discharge and it's been getting heavier and heavier each day. It's gotten to the point where it's like having my period. I know you're supposed to get discharge when you're on the birth control, but this is actually starting to scary me, I've never had it like this before. I've also started getting what seems like small cramps through out the day. I've never gotten cramps before, not even before, during, or after my period. I was wondering if it was the actual birth control or if it could be caused by the fact that I had surgery on my lower back a few weeks ago. I wouldn!
't think the two are related but I thought it might have been the pain killers. I haven't taken pill killers in a few days and it seems like the flow of brown/black discharge is still increasing.
