Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS), use of birth control pills, and sexual orgasm.

Reader: 6/04/2005>Dr.Lin, I have been diagnosed with polycystic ovarian syndrome since 2 years now and had problems with my menstruation since it started at 11. I have taken birth control pills since I was 19years old. First the pills then I stopped then I had cysts then I took again because of the cysts and pains and very very heavy menstruation to a point then no more cysts so I stopped again until heavy bleeding came back and they gave me provera pill with the birth control pills which got me very fat and very depressed. Now presently I was told to take the birth control until I marry or decide to have a child. I have tried to masturbate,but sometimes I am very dry and very few times I have lubrication and want to achieve orgasm before get together with someone in the near future or at least take care of the problem now.Can you help me? polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) is a result from the condition that the ovaries create an abundance of follicles each month without producing an egg and the follicles become cysts. Each month the ovaries are supposed to ripen a number of follicles. One or two follicles grow stronger and become 1 or 2 eggs. In the normal condition, the egg in the dominant follicle pops out and flows into the fallopian tube and then into the uterus during ovulation. Hormone-based birth control can shut down the ovarian function that create follicles. But the ovarian functional disorder will resume after you give up birth control.

It is impossible to experience orgasm when the birth control shot is still effective.
The birth control shot is more effective than birth control pills in disabling sexual and orgasmic functions.
A high dose of the artificial progesterone in birth control pills or shot usually causes weight gain, depression, vaginal dryness and intercourse pains.
