Dear Doctor,

I have been suffering from prostatitis now for about two months. The symptoms vary from day to day and include a pinching pain at the tip of the penis, general pressure in the perinium, aches in the pelvis and rectum and difficulty emptying the bladder (although this comes and goes). The urination issue began after my doctor examined me about 3 weeks ago although I dont know that the exam itself brought on the symptoms. At that exam the doctor said the prostate was normal. A few days later I was put on c!pro for 14 days to treat the urnation issues. Again, the symptoms come and go but it seems that the cipro has not worked.

Leading up to this I had been very sexually active for the previous six months ejaculating on average 3 times a day and up to 5 times a day. My libido seems to have not changed significantly, although I have tried to limit my ejaculations to 2 times a day or less. The doctor suggested 2 or 3 times a week! The volume of seminal fluid when I ejaculate seems to be significantly diminished as are the strength of the orgasams. However, there is a normal (for me) amount of precum if I masterbate.

Once in a while when I urinate, at the end, I notice that the urine has a viscosity similar to that of seminal fluid. I dont know if this is a symptom or not but I mention it for further information.

The symptoms started out slowly and were quite mild for the first month or so and then became very uncomfortable after my doctor's exam. There also were two incidences of anal sex just before, or maybe just after, the most mild symptoms became apparent.
