Dr. Lin,
I am 44 years old, in great physical shape (work out 3-4 times a week), I do not smoke. About 3 years ago I notice a significant drop in my sex drive and started having difficulty getting and maintaining an erection. At about the same general time I started having pain and discomfort in the area around my testicles and back toward my anus. I have been to a family doctor and a urologist (many times since). They put me on cipro, and other antibiotics and they did not help.
I have tested negative for bacteria cultures 3 times and once tested positive for a form of streptococcus bacteria and the antibiotics did not help again. I also tested low for testosterone levels 214 and 197. I rarely masterbate.
I have had no luck with antibiotics and my current symptoms include daily pain, discharge from my penis during bowel movements. I have been put on testosterone gel (5 months)but have not noticed much difference in mood or sex drive (maybe a little) and I continue to have erectile difficulties. I do not want to take any more harsh antibiotics.
I would appreciate your thoughts and recommendations for helping me try and help my prostate naturally.
Is is common to have erectile difficulties with prostatitis?

Your problems are due to testosterone-deficiency induced prostaglandin E-2 over production in the testicles and pelvic area (prostate, perineum and anus).
They call it the non-bacterial prostatitis ( no-bacterial prostate "infection", a very strange infection without bacteria!!!)
Your testicular function has stopped producing testosterone and DHT, and your seminal vesicles have stopped
produccing semen.
