Nightmare, Visual Dream or Near-Death Phenomenon with Cortisol and Dimethyltryptamin (DMT)
Reader: 5/02/2007> Hi Dr. Lin. First I would like to say that you are
an absolutely amazing human being. Your science is revolutionary, and its
obvious to me that you truly care about humanity. Have you received any national
or international recognition yet? Like a Nobel Prize nomination? If not you
should. Although something tells me that most such awards have become
politicized and are for show and ceremony only, and the real heroes in the world
like you get suppressed by the corrupt people in power instead. Ok, on to my
question...
From a bio-chemical, neuro-chemical, and engineering point of view, is there
some explanation to having recurring dreams? From what I've read on your site,
physical well being is just as important to psychological functioning as it is
to sexual functioning. I have a female friend who has had a recurring dreams all
her life that she is being chased by wolves. She has this dream once a week. She
has another less frequently occurring dream where she is driving on a bridge,
and the bridge collapses under her. She is tormented a lot by other random
violent or traumatic dreams. One peculiar thing about her dreams is that they
continue playing out past the point where other people would usually wake up.
For example if a wolf or some monster caught her in a dream, instead of waking
up she would keep dreaming about being savagely mutilated and fighting back and
possibly some other strange things would continue to happen after being caught
by whatever is chasing her.
My guess is that there's neuro-chemical imbalance at play. What do you think?
Can your products help her maybe? How does all this sound to you in your
professional opinion? I don't know what her sexual habits are. She doesn't take
any medication. Since she's been having recurring dreams all her life my guess
is that she was born with an imbalance or something happened to her very early
in life. Thank you for your time. I appreciate any expertise you can offer. I
trust you a lot more than any medical doctor.
Dr. Lin: 5/02/2007>Her nightmare is due to a trauma memory with
increasing levels of the stress hormone Cortisol and with possible release of Dimethyltryptamine (DMT), similar in chemical structure to the neurotransmitter serotonin. DMT can be produced in the human brain
(mainly the pineal gland) and and adrenal glands, during normal metabolism by the enzyme
tryptamine-N-methyltransferase during sleeping, and involved in certain psychological and neurological
states. DMT plays a role in promoting the visual effects of natural dreaming, near-death experiences and other mystical
states since DMT is massively released from pineal gland when people are near
death. A DMT researcher JC Callaway suggested in 1988 that visual dream
phenomena and other natural states of mind occur when brain DMT levels are periodically elevated
during sleeping. Dr. Rick
Strassman in 1990 proved that a massive release of DMT from the pineal gland
prior to death or near death produces the near
death experience (NDE) phenomenon
DMT also occurs naturally in many species of plants. DMT-containing
plants are used for religious practices in some cultures. DMT is generally
not active orally unless it is combined with a monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI)
in some antidepression drugs. With
MAOI, DHT can produce powerful hallucinations during daytimes too.
Reader 5/3/2007>
Ok, which of your products can help her with this? I'm thinking of telling her about Moodmax and Pinealtonin. Anything else?
Dr. Lin 5/3/2007>
Yes. MoodMax, ArgiNOX, and PinealTonin can help.
I believe her problem is due to the ratios among the sertotonin's enzyme amino acid decarboxylase (DDC), melatonin's enzyme enzyme 5-hydroxyindole-O-methyltransferase, and Dimethyltryptamine's enzyme tryptamine-N-methyltransferase
in her pineal gland.
A high level of the serotonin's enzyme amino acid decarboxylase (DDC) and melatonin's enzyme enzyme 5-hydroxyindole-O-methyltransferase can reduce Dimethyltryptamine's enzyme tryptamine-N-methyltransferase activities.
By the way, if she is taking MAOI antidepressants, she must withdraw it gradually since MAOI avtivates DMT.
