Case Study: Chorea Huntington patient experiences Parkison's symptoms
over one-week semen retention, but get depression after ejaculation.
Reader: 2/16/2009>Hi Dr. Lin,
I was diagnosed with Chorea Huntington (HD) some years ago. Today (I am 47) I
show the normal symptoms for this dissease in the early stages. I do not take
any medicin, no alcohol, no drugs, but I smoke cigaretts (20/day) which calms
me.
One of the symtoms with HD is increased sexual activity. I am still married, my
wife knows about my illness, she is 47 years old and I love my wonderful wife. I
can seperate my orgasm from ejaculation and use this method regulary. When I do
not have ejaculation for more than a week then my HD symptoms (trembling,
shaking, ... ) get worse. When I have ejaculation I feel calm but depression
gets into my brain. It seems that I have just to find the right ejaculation
frequency for me, but are there any concerns regarding my illness? My doctors
can or do not want to give my any advice how to handle sexuality. What are your
suggestions for people suffering HD?
Excuse my bad English. Thank you for your answer in advance,
Dr. Lin: 2/16/2009>
When you retain your semen for certain time and practice
orgasm without ejaculation, your dopamine, norepinephrine and epinephrine
becomes too high.
A high level of norepinephrine and epinephrine can trigger excessive autonomic,
sympathetic motoring nerves to act on your hands and feet for involuntary
trembling and shaking when your cholinergic, serotonin and GABA nervous
control are low despite of your high dopamine nervous function.
Sexual arousal generally elevate dopamine, acetylcholine, norepinephrine and
epinephrine, but at the end, dopamine, acetylcholine, serotonin, GABA,
norepinephrine and epinephrine will run low and some become too low, even if you
don't ejaculate. It is like a roller coaster. After passing the peak, you will
go down to the valley. When your cholinergic, serotonin and GABA nervous control
in the valley and your norepinephrine/epinephrine/sympathetic nervous function
are stronger enough to overpower your nervous controllers, you should expect
mimic Parkison's symptoms or involuntary trembling and shaking. However,
after ejaculating, your dopamine, cholinergic, serotonin and GABA nervous
function and your testicular function are in the valley. You feel calm for a moment, followed by depression
for couple days.
You should have a urinary analysis for your dopamine, acetylcholine, serotonin,
GABA, norepinephrine and epinephrine.
I suggest you should increase the precursor of dopamine, acetylcholine,
serotonin, and GABA 30-60 minutes before sexual encounter, so that the dopamine,
acetylcholine, serotonin, and GABA nervous systems can drop down excessively
after sex.
