Dear Dr. Lin,

I feel so blessed to have found your website, as I think you may be able to make some helpful recommendations for me. 

Since age 6, I have been masturbating. I am now a 28 year-old woman with some problems that may be related to masturbating at such a young age, as well as masturbating too often. 

Over the years, there were times that I did masturbate everyday by rubbing up against a chair. However, as I got older (about age 20) I was able to give myself an orgasm with hand stimulation only. 

I have been on a spiritual path for about the last 7 years or so, and since then have masturbated a few times a week, although sometimes it is less, and sometimes it is more. Most recently, I masturbate about once a week.

The negative symptoms I am experiencing are hair loss, migraines, cold hands and feet, extremely tight neck and jaw muscles, mild and sporadic tinnitus, and the inability to have an orgasm through intercourse (as I require oral or hand stimulation to climax). Also, I have to tightly squeeze the muscles in my legs and butt/hip area to have an orgasm.

I am guessing that from masturbating at such a young age I have built up scare tissue. How can I heal this? I am able to get wet without any problem and do not use or need a vibrator to have an orgasm, so I am hoping that means I have not done any permanent damage. 

My diet is very balancing, as I have been living a holistic lifestyle for many years. My diet consists of fruits and vegetables, Kim chi, raw and some cooked fish, nuts and seeds, and sprouted grains.

With regard to the hair loss, I started noticing my hair thinning at about age 22, and it has not stopped since. I have tried many things to help with the hair loss but have not noticed that anything has helped. 

With regard to the migraines, I get them mostly when I am ovulating and menstruating, although luckily I do not get them every month. However, I also can bring on a headache by doing deep breathing exercises. I feel that this is related to constricted blood vessels in my neck and head. As I breathe deeply, there is increased oxygen going to my head, and I feel that because of the constricted blood vessels I then have pressure build up and get a terrible headache. 

Because of this pain caused by deep breathing, I have had to stop all exercise. I used to be an avid runner and love doing yoga, but have not been able to practice regularly for years. Even doing an inverted pose in yoga can bring on a headache for me.

 I know that I do not have sufficient blood flow to my head, brain, and hair follicles, but I am not sure how to get more blood flow since I get migraine headaches when I do deep breathing, inverted poses or any exercise. 

I am also thinking that the pain that I experience in my head and neck from the constricted blood vessels (or whatever it is) is related to my hair loss. The hair follicles are certainly not getting the nutrients and blood flow they need. Also, I am guessing that I do not have enough DHEA and too much DHT which is clogging my follicles. However, I am not sure about this or what to do about it.

I am currently taking some supplements to help balance my hormones. Many of the things I am taking help support my adrenals, thyroid, pineal, pituitary, etc. Some of the supplements I am taking include ancient rejuvenative herbs, like a Korean Royal Formula with velvet deer antler. I also perform sexual qigong (i.e. female deer exercise), but only just started doing this one month ago.

1) hair loss
2) migraine headaches and inability to exercise

5) inability to have orgasm without squeezing the muscles in my legs and butt.
