Hello, Recently i took finasteride for approximately 45 days and stopped
after experiencing some reduced sex drive. It has been 6 weeks since stopping,
and now i have zero sex drive, soft erections, muscle twitches, low ejaculate
volume. I had my blood tested and my testosterone level is 450. LH is 8.7. I
have seen some of your products and read your theories about 5ar2 - and am
interested in taking them - but see that they contain saw palmetto - which is
also a 5ar2 inhibitor like finasteride. This worries me but i am very interested
in getting better. Please email me back.
Dr. Lin: 3/15/2010>Fianasteide destroys the 5-alpha reductase gene in the
testicles, pituitary, liver and muscles while Saw Palmeetto just prevent the DHT
attack on the prostate and hair follicles and won't block the 5-alpha reductase
gene expression.
Thus, you won't see the reduction of DHT in your blood stream while taking Saw
Palmetto.
