Reader: 3/20/1999> I am 40 & wife of 10 yrs is 36. She had a hysterectomy 5 yrs ago & has for all intents & purposes lost all interest in sex. She rarely wants me to touch her or make love with her. Dr. Lin: 3/22/1999> Her medication of Pa?il (SSRIs antidepressant) and P?em?rin the Estrogen Replacement Drug made of pregnant horse urine) overkills her liver and adrenal cortexes functions, resulting in overproduction of aromatasation enzyme that converts the added testosterone into estrogen. This combination destroy the brain's acetylcholine (parasympathetic) action, the erection or engorgement actuator, to assist the dopamine system (sympathetic function) - the libido and orgasm driver. She must reactivate her liver and adrenal cortexes to block the testosterone-to-estrogen conversion. No matter how much testosterone added into her body, it becomes estrogen. As a result, her body has too much estrogen. |
