Reader: 9/20/1999> In the last couple of weeks I have been unable to obtain orgasm through oral stimulation but I can always achieve orgasm when I'm on top of my fiancee during intercourse. Previously, I had no problems achieving an orgasm orally. My fiancee said he is not doing anything differently. Any ideas as to why this is occuring? Dr. Lin: 9/20/1999> You body becomes mature. Your testosterone level started to balance out the estrogen effect on your sexual response. This change happens around age 20-25 ( or later) if a young woman don't take estrogen-based birth control pill or overdose her body with drugs, alcohol, smoking and "medicine." Before this transition, it is very common for young ladies (and teenage girls) to experience the clitoral orgasm, rather than the vaginal orgasm. I believe that the vaginal lining becomes thinner when the estrogen dominance is over. Starting from the female adolescence, teenagers' estrogen surges up to produce the 2nd sexual characteristics such as breast and pelvis/hips developments which prepare women to carry the motherhood duty. After age 20, estrogen dominance will start to balance out by testosterone in the female body, and then, women enter the most productive age by increasing demand of sex. Starting from this age, vaginal pleasure increases, but the high-level orgasmic response requires the G-spot nerve to be fully exposed to vaginal stimulation. The ebb of estrogen help thin out the vaginal lining for women to achieve vaginal orgasm easily. At the same time, the clitoris becomes less sensitive due to the routine sexual activity.
