The problem I am writing to you about is with my companion. He is 37 years old now and at the age 22, was diagnosed with Leukemia. He went through radiation and chemoteraphy treatment, with it only to come back in his testicles after a couple of years. He had extensive radiation on his testicles and as a result of that, he became sterile, and has little or no testosterone hormones and a lack of sexual desire. He takes many types of medication at this time. As a result of a bad reaction to a certain drug, while the chemotherapy was taking place, he suffered a pancreatic attack, and now is taking insulin shots regularly for he is a diabetic as a result of the pancreatic attack. He also suffers from an enlarged heart (also as a result of the radiation therapy), Cardio Myopathy or something like that I believe is what it is called, and takes drugs on a daily basis for his enlarged heart. He has also been prescribed a Patch which is supposed to give him the required dose of the testosterone hormone. He wears this patch on certain parts of his body and suffers a bad itch from the adhesive I believe, or maybe the hormone itself, not sure. He suffers from a lack of a sexual desire. He is very interested in having sex but the desire is not there. It takes a while before he can become fully erect and when he finally does, his erection is easily lost, he is not very hard (erect) and very soft. I have tried to be as patient with him as possible...I realize that I have to work with him in order for him to reach his fully erection. If you can please give us some advice as to what you recommend for my boyfriend's situation, what can help him...what I can do for him that may be able to improve our situation. I feel that all emphasis is on him and none on me, since I am busy trying to keep him as erect as possible. I recently convinced him that he should be taking multi-vitamins, and finally he started taking them....he has noticed a difference, more energy, more alert...I also suggested Gingsing, which he is also taking. I was thinking of buying him some Gingko Biloba, but was told by the sales person at the vitamin shoppe that if he is taking any type of heart medication (for enlarged heart, which he is) that it would not be a good idea for him to take this. Any input you may have on this situation would be greatly appreciated. You have a very informative site and I visit you frequently. I mentioned to my boyfriend about you and I asked him if it would be ok with him if I wrote to you to tell you about his problem. He agreed that anything at this point would be of great benefit to him and I. I love my honey very much and we plan on marrying one day. He was lucky enough to save his sperm before going through the extensive radiation treatment and so one day we may be able to have a baby, thanks to his doctor's advice to do so.
