 Case Study: Women's anti-estrogen drugs for men? sexual orgasm? Reader: 12/10/1999> Male 23yrs I just had my Testosterone and estrogen levels measured and they were 763 ng/dl and 178 pg/ml(normal estrogen: 40 - 115 pg/ml) I had gynocomastia when I was 12 and had it removed surgically. What is my T/E ratio and is it in the healthy range and if it's not what can I take to bring the estrogen down to normal levels? Oh yeah my estradiol is 63Pg/ml and normal is less than 50. Will a doctor prescribe an anti estrogen like ar-mid-- (trade marked name is not allowed) for the high E2 levels? What are the negative effects of high Estrogen mentally/physically speaking? Dr. Lin:12/13/1999> You TE ratio is in the lower side. You should bring your testosterone level above 900 ng/dl, and lower your estrogen level down below 70 pg/ml, and estradiol below 50 pg/ml. You have to enhance your liver function for reducing the testosterone-to-estrogen conversion and your adrenal function to slow down estrogen production. I doubt that Arimid-- can work for men since its action is to slow down the ovarian function that is soly responsible for estrogen production in the female body. Senior women commonly experience adverse reactions since their ovarian function is too weak. Men don't have the ovaries to take care of this agent. The common side effects are: Headache, diarrhea, nausea, hot flash, back pain, weakness, asthenia, dizziness, chest pain, paresthesia, weight gain, abdominal pain, edema of fingers and skin around the eyes; rash, and formation of the blood clots.
