I have chronic yeast infections that don't seem to be going away with the Difl?can pill. I was wondering if my birth control pill (Mirc?tte) is a progesterone-dominant pill and if that could be causing my infections. Your problems are caused by a progesterone-domination due to the birth control pill. Your liver can not produce enough enzymes 17 alpha-hydroxylase and 17, 20-lyase to convert the mega dose of progesterone (produced by the birth control chemical progestin) into 17 alpha-Hydroxy Progesterone and then androstenedione. That is how the pills shut down the brain-ovarian axis.
