C-section has caused numbness in her pelvic area and sharp shooting pains during intercourse for no more sexual orgasm

My wife had a c section about 13 1/2 weeks ago. She still has redness and soreness where the cut was made. She also is numb down in her pelvic area. She says she feels nothing even when wiping after she has used the restroom. Last week we tried intercourse for the first time since the c section and she had sharp shooting pains inside but still no stimulation. So bad that she stopped right away. I have read some of the cases but really didn't see anything like this. Is this normal or does she have some kind of nerve damage or something wrong with the stitches that were made? And if so can it be fixed or reversed?
