Birth control pills causes mood swing for divorce before getting married

It doesn't really deal with anything on this website, but your a doctor and maybe you can answer my question. I'm 19 years old, and I have a, well used to have a 18 year old girlfriend who we have been dating for over a year and a half. About a month ago she broke up with me, being that I that I was really rude to her, treating her like nothing. Well that's what she tells me, but from my point of view, I was standing up to myself. Really long story. Now, we are trying to make the relationship work out. So far it isn't going to good. Eversince the night that she broke up with me, we are constantly arguing with eachother, but our love is too strong for us to just let it end. Being as how, I'm not the one that is always wrong, and she get's mad very easy from little things I do, and when I stand up for myself it doesn't work. We have never been like this, she is always mad at me. Well about two months ago she start taking the Birth Control pill, to help her with her menstraul cycle, because the last time when she was on her period, and not on the pill, we ended up in the hospital. Now is there something in the pill that can make her mood change like that? This all started happening in the first month on her first pack. I have been looking up on the internet about the side effects, and some sites say that there are mood changes, but they're just temporary. Can this truely happen? Anything would do. Thank You.
