hi,
I took the morning after pill this Monday August 16 after having sex the night before without a condom. However my boyfriend did not cum inside of me but i was worried about pre ejaculate so i got the pill just to be safe. Now 4-5 days later Ive been getting lots of blood on my underwear that looks similar to period blood and although i was told i would get spotting I am not sure to what extent it should be and or how long it should last? Thus I am becoming extremely paranoid and worried that the spotting may be from pregnancy....please tell me if i would be bleeding due to pregnancy or if its just a normal effect of the morning after pill. It is "normal" to have a lot of bleeding due to a cut off of the natural progetserone to the uterine lining.
Once the progesterone supply in the uterine lining is cut off, the uterine lining becomes too thin to survive and then separated, as a natural absorption.
The morning-after pills also shut down your hypothalamus and pituitary function for a while. This will induce your psychological and physiological disorders. Hopefully, it is just a short-term effect on your hypothalamus-pituitary-adrenal/ovarian function.
