Hello Dr Lin...My name is John and I been having ED ever since I was 20 years of age...I am 22 now and have yet to recovered...I only took that dam Pr*p*cia crap for hairloss for 8 weeks when I was 20, and I started to realize that I could not achieve an erection...I was impotent at 20! I immediately stopped the drug after 8 weeks of use...It's been 2 years and 1/2 and I'm still not recovered....I even consulted with Irwin Goldstein ...a famous urologist and he said my hormones were fine...What should I do? The main problem is the destruction of 5-alpha reductase gene and DHT receptors in the liver, brain, testicles and penis while the 5-alpha reductase inhibitor increases the testosterone level by blocking the testosterone-DHT conversion.
When the testosterone level increases, the liver has to detoxify testosterone with aromatase for testosterone-estrogen conversion, instead of using 5-alpha reductase for testosterone-DHT conversion, and release more SHGB protein to freeze excessive testosterone in the blood stream.. While your brain and penis gets more estrogen but less DHT, your pituitary gland will release more prolactin for lowering your libido and shrinking your penis . Since you are still young, your adrenal function can still maintain your androgen hormones DHEA/testosterone within the "Normal" range from about 250 ng/dl to about 1000 ng/dl, while the normal sexual function requires at least 500 ng/dl.

Reader: 4/09/2005> E-mail 1- Thanks for the reply....Just so you know tho...My doctor has performed blood tests on me, and he also put me on clomid for a while...My testostorone got up to as high as 1200 on clomid, however i still didn't feel better...Now it is around 700 while off clomid for 5 months, with an estradial around 35. Before I even was on clomid my test. was around 585 with an estradial level of 24 and DHT around 40. I still wasn't feeling normal sexual function then. This was about 8 months after stopping propecia. I've been off it for total of 2 1/2 years. Please email me back when you get a chance...Thanks-John
E-mail 2: I forgot to mention that I have nerve problems too that I think proppecia may of given me..Everytime I rest my eyes, I get leg spasms/twitches, sometime my arms even get them too..I can't control these spasms either.
